Hotel Emporium, a leading manufacturer of premium hotel amenities, proudly announced that its Co-Founder and CEO, Andy de Silva, has been awarded the prestigious World’s Leading Sustainability Leader of Tomorrow 2024 accolade at the inaugural World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards (WSTHA).
The WSTHA, launched during COP28, recognizes organizations that go beyond traditional tourism services to prioritize sustainability and environmental stewardship. This recognition highlights Hotel Emporium’s groundbreaking efforts in promoting eco-friendly practices, cultural preservation, and responsible travel experiences.
Under Andy de Silva’s leadership, Hotel Emporium has expanded from a small family-owned business to a global leader. Since its incorporation in 2003, the company now services over 20,000 hotels across 40 countries. Its eco-friendly amenities, combining sustainability with luxury, are a reflection of de Silva’s forward-thinking approach to reshaping the hospitality industry.
“It is a tremendous honor to receive this recognition for our sustainability efforts,” said Andy de Silva, CEO and Co-Founder of Hotel Emporium. “What started in my garage with my uncle in 1999 has grown into a global enterprise, thanks to the trust and support of our clients and partners. Sustainability is at the core of everything we do, and we remain committed to protecting our planet while providing responsible travel experiences.”
Hotel Emporium’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its innovative products such as the LiquiFill system and ECO POD. LiquiFill refills bath dispensers to reduce plastic waste, while ECO POD offers a compostable, zero-plastic alternative to combat single-use plastic pollution.
The WSTHA features 21 categories aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Winners are selected through a rigorous evaluation process, including public voting. This award underscores Hotel Emporium’s contributions to combating pollution and promoting sustainable practices within the hospitality sector.
